Today when I was thinking about various subject lines, suddenly my mind started recalling one of my teachers during my graduation days.
I was a girl who studied in a small-town college until plus two and then suddenly entered one of the renowned colleges in the city.
The curriculum there required a lot of stage activities, for which I was completely naive.
One day, all of a sudden, our teacher called out my name and said, “On Saturday, you need to give a seminar on a specified topic.”
My heart started sinking out of fear, because I was always a very introverted student. So, for a girl like me, giving a seminar to a class full of 60 students was nothing less than a blast!!!
I still could not figure out why my faculty asked me to give a seminar. Since I did not have a choice, I studied hard and prepared for that day’s speech.
Friday night came, and I could not sleep the whole night out of fear and had no idea how I would do it.
My mind was constantly consumed by the same thought, nothing else.
Next day morning I went to college, and everyone was like, “What can this girl do?”
There were many outstanding students out there in my college. The hour started, my faculty called out my name, and I went on the class stage.
Inside, my legs were shivering, and my heart was beating at some 100+, fear consuming my mind. Somehow, I started saying ‘Good morning,’ and my teacher just blinked her eyes, saying,
“You can do it.”
Something shifted dramatically in me, and I started and ended the speech hearing the loud noise of applause and a sense of surprise in my friends’ eyes.
Literally, I was feeling on cloud nine, a feeling which cannot be expressed.
All thanks to my wonderful faculty who pushed me voluntarily and believed in my potential. This journey of mine continued, and that boost of motivation is something that pulled me to where I am today to support all my wonderful young minds.
The lessons I learned that day and embraced throughout are:
Even if you don’t believe in yourself, if you find one mentor who believes in you, you can achieve wonderful things in life. So, try to find that one mentor in your life who can push you to infinite limits.
Additionally, always remember to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth and never underestimate your own potential.
Lastly, never hesitate to extend a helping hand to others, for the impact of support and encouragement can be life-changing.”
